Rick Singh - President
Rick is a Certified Senior, Financial Advisor and president of CRS Financial Group Ltd, based in South Surrey.  Rick has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry as a branch manager for a trust company, a regional director of sales for a mutual fund company and as a Senior Sales Executive for Manulife Financial.  Rick is involved extensively in his community as a Rotarian and a soccer coach.  He became interested in Hospice after a Hospice presentation to his Rotary club and his vision to serve the community, and need for people with that shared vision.  Rick was elected to the Hospice Board in 2009.
Robin HarperVice President
Robin comes to the Board with 30 years of experience in industry, with a background in Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Sales and Human Resources.  He acquired a Masters in Economics and Law at Cambridge University in England, from which country he emigrated to Canada in 1993.  He was introduced to White Rock South Surrey Hospice Society via his wife Mei Leng, who is a Thrift Store volunteer.  Robin was elected to the Hospice Board in November 2008 and has been involved with by-law revisions, the production of a strategic plan, the Thrift Store, and fundraising.
  Peter RogersTreasurer
Peter is a Certified General Accountant.  He is Vice-President of Tax Services at UHY LDMB Advisors Ltd., Chartered Accountants and was previously a tax consultant with KPMG and Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants.  Peter has served on the Queen's Park Health Center Foundation in New Westminster which built a hospice in the community while Peter was on their board.  Peter was elected to the Hospice Board in 2009.  He has lived in South Surrey since 1992.

Diana Davidson - Secretary
Diana received her law degree from Queens University.  She is a respected Barrister and Solicitor with more than 30 years experience in the areas of criminal and civil litigation as well as municipal and administrative law.  She is currently in private practice.  Diana is also a dedicated, life-long volunteer in many spheres of community life including education, recreation, and fundraising.  Diana was elected to the Hospice Board in 2010.

Bob Papau
Bob is President of DOM Santi Management Inc.  In addition to a long record of community service that includes non-profit governance experience, Bob has a background in business management and development of seniors' supportive housing and healthcare facilities.  Bob was elected to the Hospice Board in June 2009.
Hélène Cameron
Hélène is a self-employed health education consultant.  She has managed a provincial non-profit organization, has been on the Board of Directors of other non-profit organizations, and has volunteered in White Rock and other communities for over 25 years.  She was elected to the Hospice Board in November of 2007, specifically to work on the areas of policy and governance.
Barry Worsfold
Barry is a Social Work Consultant with the Ahmon Group of Long Term Care Facilities, as well as a sessional lecturer in the Department of Gerontology at Simon Fraser University. He has a Masters in Social Work from the University of British Columbia and extensive post-graduate training in his field.  He brings an excellent background in program development, palliative care, and the health care system. Barry was elected to the Hospice Board in June 2009.
 

Halina Struser
Halina comes to the Board with many years of experience in Health Care.  She is a professor of Nursing at Kwantlen Polytecnic University in their BSN program (on extended leave).  Halina has done community development work in both White Rock and Surrey.  She has sat on the Board of other non-profit organizations, and has lived in South Surrey for over 20 years.  Halina was elected to the Hospice Board in 2010.

Joyce Mackenzie
Joyce began her career as a registered nurse and acquired a BA in Recreation Administration and a MA in Education Administration.  She is a consultant in the field of senior and assisted living, with considerable experience in public health administration.  Joyce has an abiding desire to contribute to improved services for the bereaved.  Joyce was elected to the Hospice Board in 2011.

Yvon Thibeault, Executive Director, Non-Voting
Yvon received hospice training in Langley in 1991 and was a volunteer with the White Rock Hospice in 1991 and again in 1995.  He served as the first Executive Director of the Surrey Hospice Society from 1999 to 2005.  The opportunity to join White Rock Hospice at this exciting time in the Society’s history led him out of retirement in early 2009.  Yvon’s background includes 13 years in the RCAF, and a 20-year career as a Chartered Accountant and financial executive.  In 1991, a change in direction took him to the Vancouver School of Theology as a full-time student.  He eventually became the School’s Director of Operations and Personnel, a position he held for six years. In 1998, Yvon completed a Masters of Pastoral Studies degree from the Vancouver School of Theology.  Yvon and his family have lived on the Semiahmoo Peninsula since 1987.
